I love The Green Mile, Shawshank redemption (same producer-kick ass movies) Wild Orchid, the list goes on and on.

I love that movie Like Water for Chocolate. I am not sure why but it is one of my favs along with alot of other movies. I must be a geek lol.

A couple stand out for me

1. Tim Robbins/Morgan Freeman in Shawshank Redemption--the final scene always have me in pieces. BTW Forrest Gump won the Oscar for best pic over this and Pulp Fiction--Recount anyone?

2. Haley Joel Osment in A.I.--dont sleep on this Kubrick/Spielberg collabo. HJO's Pinnochio-like journey to become a real boy is painful to the soul. The scene where he is staring at the blue fairy at the end is worth the price of admission alone. Panned by critics, this film proves movie critics are overpaid hacks with no clue. rent it immediatley

3. LeVar Burton in Roots--nuff said

Ah Chantelle, I was just going to mention American History X. It is one of my favorite movies, along with Crash, and I think Ed Norton did an excellent job!!

Also, The Notebook.... maybe not the role just the whole movie.... I don't know if anyone put it cause I didn't read back to see. Maybe I am a hopeless romantic lol... It just makes you want to find that kind of love!

When my then-husband was in Iraq, I couldnt watch the scene in A League of Their Own when Betty finds out her husband was killed in the war. I sobbed every time. I guess thats not one particular actor/actress, but its the first thing that came to mind.

Also, Michelle Williams character in Brokeback Mountain. Thats the only time in my life I can think of that I forgot it was a movie character and genuinely felt sorry for the character.

For some reason, "What's Love Gots To Do With It" (The Tina Turner Story) always gets me. That is my favorite movie of all time. The movie came out in the Early 90's, but I've never seen it until 2001. It was 2am and I was awake. I was scared as hell to move out of state to college that day. Being that we didn't have cable (again), I was forced to watch reg tv. Even though the movie was edited for tv. I enjoyed the acting of Angela Bassett and Laurence Fishburne (A.K.A Cowboy Curtis from Pee Wee's playhouse).

The story touched me, but the acting is the strong point of the movie that stays in my mind.

Annie-May, Eat the cake!

Alec Baldwin's character "Blake" in Glengarry Glen Ross taught me one of the most important lessons thus far.

A.
B.
C.

Always Be Closing.

Whether it's a business deal or a fresh, young woman; Always Be Closing.

Val Kilmer's portrayal of Jim Morrison taught me to live a life without regard for societal guilt.

Robert Deniro's Neil McCaulley in Heat showed me that you can be a guy who's tough exterior masks a tenderness people hate to love.
