In my bio, I put "Somewhere In Time" as my all-time favorite movie (Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour). Besides having one of the most beautiful women ever to grace the screen in it, it really was a damn tear jerker.

However, a movie I still have trouble watching to this day is my #1A choice, and it has EVERYTHING to do with the ending. I know most of you will say Dirty Dancing made him, but for me, this movie is what I always will remember Patrick Swayze by.

So many movies I love for so many different reasons...

The Notebook, and Like Water for Chocolate - For the pure romance

The Shawshank Redemption - For the amazing performances, the best Stephen King story adaptation ever, and the hopeful never-give-up message.

Last Holiday, and P.S. I Love You - Queen Latifah and Hilary Swank. I love the way these women overcome their fear and pain and learn how to live their lives.

Lady in the Water - Kind of a corny movie but I loved the message that everyone has a purpose, you just need to find it. Plus I am always about seeing magic in the world.

Love Actually - The way it shows the many forms love takes. I love the bits with Liam Neeson and his stepson. The end of this movie never fails to make me smile.

A Time to Kill - I have to agree with the others who posted this movie.. that final scene where Matthew McConaughey gives his closing argument.. pure brilliance! It's one of those slap-in-the-face moments that are so rare in movies.

Without a Trace - I almost never cry at movies but this one makes me cry like a baby every time.. when the boy runs down the street into his mothers arms.. *sheds a tear just THINKING about it*

Casino and Goodfellas-I love the characters...
Boys Don't Cry-A great depiction of a sad true story
Purple Rain-Bad acting, great music, SEXY Prince in his prime...mmm
Titanic-I like to think of what I would do if I was there...SCARY~
I'd get my black card revoked if I DIDN'T mention The Color Purple! lol

Easy answer for me. Patrick Swayze as the most perfect character in the best movie ever written - Johnny Castle. Saw Dirty Dancing for the first time when I was just 11 years old and immediately fell in love with Johnny Castle. For me, being a quiet shy chubby little girl I related to Baby and watching a girl like her have a man as wonderful as Johnny fall in love with her, I was just awestruck. I was changed for life after seeing that movie, I have always known, since 11 yrs old, that my dream man is a man like Johnny Castle. I've spent my whole life loving Dirty Dancing, I've studied it, written about it, dissected it and easily watched it more times than anyone in the world. I know this film word for word, frame for frame, every moment of the movie and most notably, Johnny Castle, is etched in my heart. When Patrick Swayze fell ill, I was devastated and knew when he eventually passed that I'd be a wreck. I cried for hours when he left this world and still haven't been able to read his book just yet :( Johnny Castle is just the epitome of the perfect man and I didn't know it when I was a kid but I realized when I was older that what makes Johnny Castle even more amazing is that his portrayer is just as great in real life. Johnny Castle (and PS) loved his woman fiercely, was a good honest man and well, he's just that one of a kind, wonderful guy we all look for.
