Default Big Screen Roles that Moved/Touched Us

I hope this isn't a repeat thread. But with all the threads about movies lately, I felt the need to post this one. I was just wondering - about an actor/actress, role and film that REALLY sticks in your mind because it moved you or touched you in some way.

For me its:
Matthew McConaughey as Jake Brigance in A Time To Kill. The summation he gave that jury was so dead on!!! I have watched that movie at least 8 times since its release. FREE CARL LEE!!

Juliette Binoche as Vivionne in "Chrocolat" moved me.
Here she was...a single Mother...not apologizing about who she was or how she lived her life. She breezed into town with her young daughter and set up a chocolateria during Lent. This little French village was filled with quiet, respectful, gray, devout.....
(read: BORING) people. And Vivionne created a haven for the townsfolk from the "wrong" side of the tracks. And little by little....Vivionne added color to the village and helped marriages, reunited estranged family, encouraged romance, empowered women just by her kindness....and her little shop.

It is a truly wonderful movie.

Ed Norton as Montgomery Brogan in Spike Lee's 25th Hour. Great role, and a serious departure from the norm for Spike. But when he gives his monologue in the mirror. Powerful moment. But I think he's one of the great actors of our time.

The scene is Steel Magnolias where Sally Fields just buries her daughter. The way she cries and the words she says are so moving I cry every time I see that scene. Plus there is some humor in that scene that tops all the rest of the humor in the movie.

That is so interesting you picked this Country....I was just telling someone on Saturday night....Three years my Dad passed. And as I said goodbye to him in the last few minutes, I took him in my arms and held him and felt nothing but an overwhelming sense of Peace. And I thought of that scene when Sally Field said..."there was no noise...no noise...just Peace"

I see someone posted it but I have to agree. For me it would be Matthew McConaughey in "A Time to Kill." Another one is Edward Norton in "American History X." and many many more...

I love The Green Mile, Shawshank redemption (same producer-kick ass movies) Wild Orchid, the list goes on and on.

American History X is such a deep movie. I love it Ed Norton is one of my Favorite actors. Shawshank Redepmption is Tim Robbins best work

if i had to pick a movie on a whole though it would be Bamboozled. although its controversial. the movie was serious and all the roles were well played and thought about
